TradeDay vs Topstep (2026)
Both are US futures firms billed monthly. The real gap is in the funded stage: TradeDay's visible monthly prices against Topstep's end-of-day drawdown and flat 90/10 split.
Disclosure: this page contains affiliate links. My TradeDay link is live, so I may earn a commission if you buy through it, at no extra cost to you. My Topstep affiliate application is still pending, so that link earns me nothing today. That could change, and I apply the same watch-out standard to both.
Short answer: TradeDay publishes its prices and has a 25K size, but its funded Quick Pay accounts use intraday trailing drawdown and split 50/50 on the first $4,000. Topstep offers end-of-day trailing and a 90/10 split, but I couldn't read its price on any official page, so check it yourself before you compare costs.

Where TradeDay wins
- Visible prices. TradeDay shows its monthly prices on the page. I couldn't verify Topstep's price on an official page, so I can't say which is cheaper.
- A 25K size and no activation fee. Topstep starts at 50K.
- Choice of routes. Quick Pay and Fast Pass trade off cost, consistency rule and split.
Where Topstep wins
- End-of-day trailing throughout. No intraday drawdown to switch on or surprise you once funded.
- A flat 90/10 split. TradeDay's Quick Pay starts at 50/50 under $4,000 in net profit.
- Track record. Topstep has operated for over a decade.
- A lower payout minimum. $125, against $250 at TradeDay.
Watch out: TradeDay
- Intraday drawdown when funded on Quick Pay. A reviewer's 1-star complaint on Trustpilot (July 2026) was about exactly this. TradeDay says it is in the rules, so read them first.
- Payout complaints. Some reviewers allege payouts were denied or accounts disabled afterwards. These are unverified. I haven't been paid by TradeDay, so I can't confirm either side.
- Rules change often. The firm relaunched plans on May 29, 2026, and changed Fast Pass funded rules for accounts opened from July 26, 2026.
- No refunds, and one reviewer reported a billing problem after cancelling.
- Not registered with the SEC or CFTC, by its own statement. There is also a tier 1 news blackout.
Watch out: Topstep
- Monthly billing. The slower you pass, the more you pay. Topstep says 16.8% of Combines started in 2025 were completed.
- Price isn't verifiable. Sources differ and I found none on an official page. Check the figure and any activation fee at checkout.
- Terms changed in 2026. Topstep removed the 100% on the first $10,000 for new dashboard traders from January 12, 2026. Payout caps and a daily-loss-limit offer have also changed during the year.
- The 55% rule. One big day can raise your profit target while you're trying to pass.
- Passing starts over. Profits from the Combine don't carry into the funded account.
- Pending affiliate. It earns me nothing today, which is why I'm telling you its weak spots just as plainly.
TradeDay may fit if…
- You want a 25K size and low monthly cost
- You're comfortable with intraday trailing on some plans
- You don't need a daily loss limit
- You accept a news blackout and frequent rule changes
Topstep may fit if…
- You want end-of-day trailing and a flat 90/10 split
- You value a long-established name
- You're fine with 50K as the smallest size
- You can live with the 55%-of-target consistency rule
FAQ
Which is cheaper, TradeDay or Topstep?
TradeDay publishes its prices (for example $79 a month for a 50K Quick Pay EOD plan at the current promo). I couldn't read Topstep's price on any official page, and third-party figures differ ($49 to $99 a month), so I can't tell you which is cheaper. Check both checkouts.
Which has the better drawdown?
If you want end-of-day trailing in both the evaluation and funded stages, Topstep is the clearer fit. TradeDay's Quick Pay turns intraday once funded, and its Fast Pass funded type is unclear. See my guide on trailing vs end-of-day drawdown.
Have you been paid by either firm?
No. I've bought Topstep Combines, it hasn't paid me, and I haven't traded TradeDay. My payouts so far come from FTMO, Lucid Trading and Crypto Fund Trader.
Is there a TradeDay or Topstep discount code?
I don't have a code for either, so I'm not listing one. TradeDay runs its own sale, and the prices above already reflect it. It may change, so check the checkout.
Do I earn from these links?
TradeDay's link is a live affiliate link, so I may earn if you buy. Topstep's affiliate application is pending, so that link earns me nothing yet. I apply the same watch-out standard to both.
