The Best Prop Firm for NQ (Nasdaq Futures) in 2026
On a 50K account the main NQ-friendly firms give you almost the same room to be wrong. The real differences are the drawdown type, how many contracts you can hold, which platforms connect, and the rules that can block a payout.
Disclosure: some links on this page are affiliate links. If you buy through them I may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. Lucid Trading has paid me. FundedNext, Topstep, Apex and Tradeify have not. FundedNext has not paid me yet, but I earn a commission if you use my code LEDGER.
Short answer: my pick for NQ is Lucid Trading (LucidFlex or LucidPro). It gives $2,000 of end-of-day trailing drawdown on the 50K, it connects to Tradovate, and it has paid me. Topstep is a close second on official rules. FundedNext Flex has one of the cheapest upfront prices I found, but its $1,500 limit leaves you 25% less room on the same NQ size. Every ranking here is my judgment on the facts below, and some facts are only third-party reports.

NQ or MNQ: how much room do you really have?
The Nasdaq-100 E-mini (NQ) moves $5.00 per 0.25-point tick, or $20 per point. The Micro (MNQ) is one tenth of that: $0.50 per tick, $2 per point. So 10 MNQ equal 1 NQ. These tick values come from third-party broker pages; I could not read CME's contract page, so check them there.
Divide your max loss by $20 and you get how many NQ points your account can lose on one contract. This is plain arithmetic, not a recommendation:
| 50K max loss | Points of room on 1 NQ | On 3 NQ | On 4 NQ | On 5 NQ |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $2,000 | 100 | 33.3 | 25 | 20 |
| $1,500 | 75 | 25 | 18.75 | n/a (3-mini cap) |
That is why the contract cap matters more than it looks. Running the full 4 NQ on a $2,000 limit leaves 25 points, which a normal NQ session can cover in minutes. Micros let you size in smaller steps: the same $2,000 is 1,000 points on a single MNQ, or 100 points on 10 MNQ (the equivalent of 1 NQ). The firms below allow 30 to 50 micros on a 50K (Apex's micro cap wasn't found). How many contracts you hold is your decision and your risk.
Drawdown fit: end-of-day or intraday?
NQ is fast. On intraday trailing drawdown your floor rises with every open-profit peak, so a spike in your favour followed by a pullback can end the account while you are still in profit. That is what cost me Apex accounts again and again, so on futures I only buy end-of-day trailing. Even that has ended funded accounts of mine that were in profit, but it is still the option I prefer on futures. More in trailing vs end-of-day drawdown.
Watch out: "end-of-day" often means the floor only moves at the close. Tradeify's help center says its drawdown is enforced live against open P&L, while its dashboard figure updates at close, so an NQ spike can fail the account intraday (official). Treat every end-of-day firm the same way until you have read how it enforces the limit. Also note which plan you buy: Lucid Daily and Apex's intraday option use intraday trailing (third-party reports). I stick to LucidFlex and LucidPro.

Platforms: Tradovate, NinjaTrader and TradingView
- Lucid: I trade through Tradovate and place orders from TradingView. Third-party sources list Tradovate and Rithmic; I haven't verified an official Lucid statement.
- Tradeify: you choose a broker connection at checkout (Tradovate, Rithmic or WealthCharts). Its help center says the Tradovate connection covers Tradovate, NinjaTrader and TradingView, while Rithmic does not cover NinjaTrader. A third-party claim that NinjaTrader is limited to one account tier is unresolved; the official page says it works through a Tradovate login.
- FundedNext: its futures page lists Tradovate and NinjaTrader and shows TradingView only in logos; a third-party source says TradingView is supported.
- Topstep: sources conflict. One newer third-party report says new sign-ups use TopstepX only (from about February 2026), with NinjaTrader and Tradovate for legacy accounts. Another lists Tradovate and NinjaTrader. I haven't read the Topstep help center on this, so check before you buy. TopstepX has built-in TradingView charts; I couldn't confirm order routing from TradingView alerts.
- Apex: third-party reports list Rithmic, Tradovate and WealthCharts, with TradingView through Tradovate.
TradingView probably needs a paid CME data package plus a TradingView plan to show real-time NQ, though sources disagree. Read TradingView for prop firm traders before you count on it.
Ranking: best prop firm for NQ
1. Lucid Trading
Why first: $2,000 end-of-day trailing drawdown with 4 minis and 40 micros on the 50K, Tradovate with TradingView orders (how I run it), and the only payout on my record among these five. See the Lucid review. Check Lucid pricing.
Watch out: Lucid prices come only from third-party reports, and Lucid raised its no-daily-loss-limit prices on October 19, 2026. I could not verify its overnight rule. LucidDaily uses intraday trailing once funded (third-party report), and Lucid reportedly bans cross-account hedging, including ES against NQ. Lucid's payout article is also inconsistent on whether the payout cap is based on profit or balance.
2. Topstep
Why second: the best-documented rules of the five. Its help center confirms a $2,000 end-of-day max loss that never moves down, and 5 contracts on the 50K, more than Lucid, Tradeify and FundedNext. It has no payout on my record, so it sits below Lucid. See the Topstep review and Apex vs Topstep. Check Topstep pricing.
Watch out: it bills monthly, and one plan adds a $149 activation fee. At the full 5 contracts you have only 20 points of room. The platform question above is unresolved: new accounts may be TopstepX only.
3. Tradeify
Why third: the same $2,000 and 4 minis / 40 micros as Lucid, a clear official rulebook, news trading allowed, and a Tradovate connection that reaches NinjaTrader and TradingView. It has no review on this site yet; see Lucid vs Tradeify. Check Tradeify pricing.
Watch out: overnight holding is banned (positions are closed automatically at 4:45 PM ET). On funded accounts, over 50% of your trades and over 50% of profit must come from trades held longer than 10 seconds, or payouts are blocked, which matters if you scalp NQ. Hedging is banned, including opposing correlated positions across accounts. The drawdown is enforced live, as described above. I didn't check its prices.
4. FundedNext Flex
Why fourth: among the cheapest upfront prices I found ($74.99 shown on its page), a $2,500 target and 3 minis / 30 micros. It is an account I'm trading now and I like the firm, partly for the prices. But the $1,500 limit is 75 NQ points on one contract, against 100 at the others, and it hasn't paid me yet, so I can't rank it on payout experience. See the FundedNext review and Lucid vs FundedNext. Check FundedNext pricing Use code LEDGER at checkout. FundedNext is an affiliate link for me.
Watch out: overnight holding is not allowed (third-party report, flat by 3:10pm CT). Most of its rules beyond the price page come from third-party guides, and its profit split is 95% on its page but 80% in one guide.
5. Apex (end-of-day plan)
Why last: I could not read Apex's official pages, so every Apex number here is a third-party report. It offers 6 contracts in evaluation and a $2,000 end-of-day trailing option. See the Apex review. Check Apex pricing.
Watch out: one third-party site gives the funded 50K cap as 4 contracts and, elsewhere, as 2 until the balance reaches $52,100. That's unresolved. Apex also sells a cheaper intraday trailing plan, the type I stopped buying. Prices swing with promos; the reports range from $197 to $349+.
How to choose
- Need $2,000 of end-of-day room and a payout record: Lucid Flex or Pro.
- Want the best-documented rules and a higher cap: Topstep, after checking its platform.
- Hold trades more than 10 seconds and are always flat by the close: Tradeify fits.
- Want one of the cheapest upfront prices to try NQ, and accept less room: FundedNext Flex.
- Swing NQ overnight: Tradeify and FundedNext don't allow it, and I couldn't verify Lucid, Topstep or Apex. Read the rulebook first.
FAQ
Should I trade NQ or MNQ on a prop account?
That's your call. MNQ is one tenth of NQ ($2 per point against $20), so the same loss limit gives ten times the points of room per contract. The firms above allow 30 to 50 micros on the 50K (Apex's micro cap wasn't found).
Which prop firm is best for Nasdaq futures if I scalp?
Read the hold-time rules first. Tradeify blocks payouts on funded accounts if over 50% of trades and profit come from trades held 10 seconds or less. See best prop firms for scalping.
Has Lucid paid you?
Yes. A $2,000 payout (certificate dated March 5, 2026, blurred) reached my bank within a minute of requesting it. FundedNext, Topstep, Apex and Tradeify haven't paid me.
What is the NQ margin at these firms?
I couldn't find any firm that publishes NQ margin for evaluations, so I don't quote one. On prop accounts the practical limits are the contract cap and the drawdown.
Can I use TradingView to trade NQ at a prop firm?
On Tradovate-connected accounts, yes: I place Lucid orders from TradingView. Tradeify's help center says the same for its Tradovate connection. Topstep's setup is unresolved; see the platforms section.
